Borders bookshop, on the Speke Retail Park, is collecting gifts for children in Speke and Garston this year.

The gifts are donated by shoppers for the store's Giving Tree.

They are then wrapped and passed on.

The organisations receiving the presents this year are Speke Sure Start and Garston Children's Centre.

The two organisations were chosen by Borders after a suggestion from Lib Dem Councillor Paula Keaveney, who represents Speke and Garston and who used to work for the Store.

Says Paula:

"It's great that Borders have chosen to support local children this Christmas. Plenty of people from South Liverpool both shop and work on the retail park. I hope many will leave gifts so that children in Garston and Speke can have an extra happy Christmas".
